Wooden Roller Blinds

wooden roller blinds

    roller blinds
  • Specially stiffened fabric blind which simply rolls onto a tube when operated. Very popular and economical window treatment

  • Made of wood

  • (woodenly) ungraciously: without grace; rigidly; "they moved woodenly"

  • Stiff and awkward in movement or manner

  • made or consisting of (entirely or in part) or employing wood; "a wooden box"; "an ancient cart with wooden wheels"

  • Like or characteristic of wood

  • lacking ease or grace; "the actor's performance was wooden"; "a wooden smile"

A simple cardbox snoot on my Speedlite 430 EX was set to 1/8th power and focused the light on a sheet of orange plastic behind the subject. The camera was set to autotimer. The exposure time was 1/3th second to give me enough time to fire the flash manually (I have no cable/wireless sync). The glass stands on a dark wooden table. Ambient light was blocked with some black sheets of plastic because the room has no curtains or roller blinds. I cleaned the glass slightly in Photoshop and adjusted saturation and curves a litte.

"A little girl in Birmingham burned to death in her own house. She was a classmate of A.J., by son. These things in this artwork all came out of her burned-down house. Her parents was not home. They had given her luxuries but not heir own time. Four little girls died in the bombing at the Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in 1963. They was the victims of racism. The 'fifth' child burned from a kind of family neglect. We got to look past racism sometimes and find the blame within ourself." -L.H.
